I never ever warmed to him but Alzheimer's is an absolute cunt.

Never forget...

Re: Jimmy Hill - Hovis
It was always a good wind-up with people in the office that him and Graham Hill were brothers...RIP

Re: Jimmy Hill - Hovis
They still sing;

"We hate Jimmy Hill, he's a poof, he's a poof" now.

Maybe they'll stop now.

Re: Jimmy Hill - Hovis
Loved the way he irritated the Scots
Started when he described David Narey's 1982 World Cup goal v Brazil as a toe poke.
Top stuff Jimmy

He's been in a care home for a couple of years. Alzheimers. Can't communicate with anyone. Doesn't recognise his wife etc.

Re: Jimmy Hill - Hovis
Changed the game.
Seemed like a passionate top bloke.
Will be forever remembered as already said as a playground slang!

RiP Jimmy

Re: Jimmy Hill - Hovis
I think he has had dementia or something similar for the last few years which is why he has been off the scene.

Re: Jimmy Hill - Hovis
I wonder if the coffin lid will have to have a 'chin extension' built into it?!

Bless him, a real polymath of the english game really.

Plus I thought he was already dead. Sorry.

Re: Jimmy Hill - Hovis
RIP Jimmy.

Face of football in the 70s and 80s.

Annoying at times but was honest and a decent bloke or appeared to be?

Greatest chin you will ever see. Even Lionel Richie would doff his cap to Hill's chin.

Takashi Miike 3:18 Sat Dec 19
Re: Jimmy Hill - Hovis
I liked him, especially when he worked with brian moore

Leonard Hatred 3:16 Sat Dec 19
Re: Jimmy Hill - Hovis
Jimmy Hill pioneered loads of things in modern football.

Johnson 3:15 Sat Dec 19
Re: Jimmy Hill - Hovis
Yeah I think he did.

Player
Coach
Manager
Chairman
Ref

A real character of the game. I liked him.

Sven Roeder 3:15 Sat Dec 19
Re: Jimmy Hill - Hovis
RIP
He was a revolutionary figure
3 Pts for a win & the end of the maximum wage ... down to him.

My Mum used to watch Fulham in the 50's and said when he got barracked by the fans once he dropped his shorts and showed them his ARSE. Beats cupping an ear.

Re: Jimmy Hill - Hovis
Did he come on as a ref in one game, when the original ref was injured?
